This CD is made up of two improvisations by four musicians of different nationalities: from Australia, Klaus Filip (ppooll); from Japan, Toshimaru Nakamura (no-input mixing board); from Germany, Andrea Neumann (inside piano, mixing board); and from the Czech Republic, Ivan Palacký (amplified Dopleta 180 knitting machine, photovoltaic panels). The 40-minute performance on the first track, which took place at the Babel Festival in Prague in October 2011, is followed by a 16-minute improvisation recorded in a studio in Vienna in the same month. Each of these musicians uses unique "instruments," and all have earned accolades for their numerous performances around the world. The characteristic diversity and richness of their sounds and their superb sense of sonic structure are much in evidence in this recording.
