These recordings are taken from the last stretch of the monthly improvised music meeting with Tetuzi Akiyama and Toshimaru Nakamura at Off Site in Yoyogi, Tokyo--a series which began in the year 2000. Nearly 40 evenings have been shared by the room, the audience, and the musicians. Does this final squeeze present the most mature moment of the series? That isn't for me to say. In any case, the project has been ongoing for four years at Off Site--six years all together if you count the Bar Aoyama period--and has included nearly sixty musicians. It wouldn't take six years to listen to all three CDs of the series, so please get one to start, and try another if you have a chance to get hold of one.
